Reichan

Reichan

This is a blend made from a number of different components, all from the Upper Galilee. Cabernet Sauvignon comes from two plots near Dishon Moshav and Menara Kibbutz, at 450 and 580 m altitude. Shiraz is also from two plots, at Kerem Ben Zimra, (630 m.) and near Alma Moshav  (654 m.) The Merlot is from Kerem Ben Zimra (780 m.) and Petit Verdot from Alma Moshav (650 m.) Some of the plots are on volcanic soil while others are on terra rossa on a bedrock of limestone. Each plot has a different aspect and a different story. They come together in a wine which represents the terroir of the Upper Galilee. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels. The name Reichan is for a local strain of the herb Basil.
